Got Brimstone?

Much like you can't appreciate a true Nor'easter if you've never been dumped with 12" of snow per hr, it's hard to describe what a "firestorm" is like. There are wildfires all over southern California. Paul and I are fine, we are a good 40 miles from the closest fire. It's very smoky outside and it smells like we're living inside a giant BBQ. I will say that the emergency workers seem to be doing an amazing job helping all the evacuees, their pets, etc. Cell phone lines are jamming so please don't call, and just do a little rain dance for us!

now you can probably understand why I'm so terrified of fire - give me an earthquake any day!
