Dearest co-habitants,
I love you both dearly, like sisters in fact, but much in the way I used to feel the heat of injustice when the Desh-ster would declare a natural disaster in Barbie land, forcing an upheavel of the pink palacial town house that I had just finished organizing, so too are some of our domestic matters troubling me.
Let's start with the loo roll. I often hear the phrase "we're out of toilet paper." No shit (-5 pts for the bad pun). This happens with desposable paper products, particularly those we use frequently. You should make a mental note of this when you put the last roll in the bathroom instead of taking the roll off the holder in
my bathroom and moving it to
yours. You would notice the shortage more often if I didn't proactively buy t.p. frequently, but every now and then it's your turn, and that doesn't mean buying a 4 pack to replace the last 8/16/24 pack I bought.
Moving on to non-disposable products - the bathroom towels. I don't mind sharing towels; it would be silly not to. What I do mind is when you use all the towels and don't wash them to the point that I go for a clean towel and there are none left. Again,
we don't need to do a load of towels,
you do.
And speaking of things piling up, when the dishrack is full and you wash something, do you think you could maybe put away the clean, dry dishes instead of precariously perching those pans on top of the pile? Similarly, when the dishwasher is full, would you mind emptying it every once in a while? I know I do the majority of cooking and therefore use the most dishes, so I have no problem putting away dishes most of the time. But when I empty the dishwasher, I don't leave your water glasses or cereal bowls in there, so if you could return the favor once in a blue moon, it would be awesome.
Now I know I play the domestic diva, and truth be told I do like cleaning. I generally don't mind bleaching the kitchen counters or diving into the microwave armed with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser just to see what can be accomplished. But even I have my limits. I know I'm partially to blame. We're adults and have good relationships - I could have brought this up. A fake blog letter is very passive agressive, I agree. In my defense, though, I don't think I should have to ask that you clean the toilet at least once in the three years it'll be come August.
As my mother once said, I'll always love you, but sometimes I don't like how you act.
Kindest regards,
Little Miss Clean
