Sarah [entering office]: How you doin'?
Me: O.K.
Sarah: h'okay coach?
Me: h'okay coach.
[Sarah exists.]
Mon: What is that from?
Me: I'm not sure. I think it's from a movie The Bad News Bears. Sarah says it and I just picked it up from her.
[pause]
Isn't that the definition of simulacrum? A replication of a thing that is itself a replication without any knowledge of the original thing?
[Mon nods head yes.]
Me [way too excitedly]: Yay! I used simulacrum correctly in a sentence!
Mon: That would have served you very well in the late 90's.
